Our experienced dispatcher coordinates the fleet whilst liaising with clients to ensure loads are delivered on time. The trucks are monitored with a GPS system, which includes a computer based dispatch programme, where information and data is sent to and from the truck.

Twist Trucking Limited is a safety conscious company. The safety of the general public and our drivers depends on the adherence to company policy, strict industry safety standards and legislative requirements. These are continuously monitored and updated to maintain our strong safety record. We currently have a '5 Star Operator Rating' (the highest achievable) governed by the New Zealand Transport Agency.

Our staff are a large part of our successful business and are put through the EECA Heavy Vehicle Fuel Efficiency Programme to develop a positive and safer driving culture.

To ensure the safety and reliability of our fleet on the road, we have a full mechanical workshop in Waipawa, along with an experienced and qualified mechanic, who takes care of the day-to-day maintenance and servicing our fleet of vehicles.

The Twist family began in Central Hawke’s Bay with a sizeable sheep and beef farming operation in Argyll. The farming operation always had its own truck to transport livestock to and from the farm as well as carting fertiliser to the farm airstrip.

In 1997 Neville Twist, with his passion for trucks, decided to extend the farming operation by venturing into the transport industry, starting Twist Trucking Limited. The company began by putting the name “Twist Trucking Limited” on the farm truck and seeking local clientele to ‘fill the gaps' of work associated with the farm. Neville's son’s Theo and Tom drove the trucks, and when business picked up, another stock truck was purchased (in 1998).

With the opening of a new fertiliser store in Waipukurau in 2001, Neville saw a gap in the bulk transport industry. Twist Trucking Limited purchased two new bulk trucks and started carting bulk products throughout the North Island. This work grew steady alongside the livestock division over the next couple of years with more trucks being purchased for both divisions.

In 2005 Neville's son Tom took over the day-to-day running of the trucks. Since then Tom has been managing the business including maintaining the existing client-base and sourcing new clients throughout the North Island.

In 2012 a decision was made to downsize the livestock side of the business and to increase the bulk cartage to accommodate customers growing requirements. Twist Trucking Limited now has a modern fleet specialising entirely in bulk transport.

From one truck and one mans vision we have grown to become a reputable company throughout the North Island.
